Update Notes v2.0


Hey Fox Family! Update V2.0 is now live. It has been some time and we have been working very hard on the game. Due to testing and feedback, a lot of changes have been made and we decided that it was time to upload a new demo. This demo is much improved from previous iterations and has many new additions. Feel free to jump right in and give it a shot, or, if you are interested in learning about some of the recent changes, keep reading below.

Changes

  • Changed the way free flight mode works. Instead of needing a certain amount of rings to progress into fox flight mode, players have a certain amount of time to collect points before being automatically pushed into it.
  • Rings in free flight mode now increase your points and multiplier when going through them.
  • Changed the text color for all feedback numbers from purple to yellow. They are much easier to see now.
  • Various control changes to make navigating menus and the UI easier.

New Additions

  • Complete overhaul of the main menu UI. It is now more in line with our vision for the game.
  • High score system has been revamped and now scores the top 3 high scores for each game mode.
  • Levels are now procedurally generated. This includes the amount of waves, the enemies in those waves and any special transitions that occur during play (ring jumps, fox flights, etc.).
  • We added a new enemy type called the spinner. Players may encounter him at some point during the demo.
  • Created an entirely new difficulty system. The game scales difficulty the further through the level you get.
  • Added various social media links to the main menu so as to make it easier to stay updated on everything Jumper related!

Balancing

  • We have taken great care to ensure that the wave generator can remain procedural, while still allowing us to maintain some control over what is generated. This helps ensure a challenge that feels fair.
  • Changed the threshold for various ranks in the ranking system.
  • Changed the default speed of most of the enemy projectiles.

What’s Next?

We are continuing to work very hard on the game and have made a TON of progress in the last few weeks! Most of the changes that have been made are only available in the full version of the game. For example, the full game now has;

  • A 7 level traditional arcade mode with a different boss at the end of each
  • A 7 level variant of arcade mode (arcade++) that is fully procedural including the stage music, boss, wave number, wave enemies and special interactions that may occur.
  • A fully procedural endless mode.
  • A boss rush mode that allows players to fight the various bosses in the game after defeating and unlocking them in arcade/arcade++ and survival mode.
  • A survival mode that challenges players to complete arcade mode starting with a single life.
  • Many other new additions!
